Continuous and Economical Particle Separation Using Centrifugal Force
In industrial facilities, separating airborne particles from the main airflow is critical for both system performance and raw material quality. The SRD Makine Dust Cyclone is a high-efficiency static separator designed to remove dust, straw, and other lightweight foreign materials generated particularly in grain processing and cleaning sections.
Cyclones operate according to aerodynamic principles (centrifugal effect) through a design with no moving parts:
Air and Dust Inlet: Dust-laden air drawn in by an external aspirator (fan) is tangentially introduced into the upper section of the cyclone.
Centrifugal Separation: The conical structure of the cyclone causes the incoming air to rotate at high speed, creating a vortex. Dust and foreign materials that are heavier than air are thrown toward the walls by centrifugal force.
Discharge Process: The particles that lose velocity after striking the walls descend by gravity and are discharged through the airlock (rotary airlock) installed at the bottom of the cyclone without allowing air leakage into the system.
Clean Air Outlet: Dust-free air rises through the large-diameter tubular duct located at the center of the cyclone (vortex finder) and is directed either to the atmosphere or to a filtration unit.
